Fungus is the archenemy of leather, and monsoon is the feasting season for fungus. But, with some simple care, you can keep your favourite leather articles fine and shine for many years to comes.

Don’t let your leather products get soaked in the water or wet. Prevention is always better than cure. Carry small plastic bags in your wallet to keep your essentials safe in case of urgency. Also, clean the wallet with a dry cotton cloth once a week.

If your favourite leather wallet gets soaked anyhow, keep it in the open air to get it dry by itself. Don’t try to speed up the drying process with any external heat sources. The leather will recover itself overnight.

The leather items you use only on special occasions and most of the time are in store, air those at least once a week. Your leather articles need to breathe now and then. Dust off properly and wrap it with a clean, dry cotton cloth while storing again.
